Librarian Laura

I promise- for all the playing I get to do this semester, I am working! Promise! Infect I even have a job this semester while I'm here in Italy! I am a part of a team of 4 who are in the process if developing and building the library here for the ACM. The library is only a couple year old and its still growing so Marit, Anicka, Megan and I are in charge of a lot or origination and archival work. Our big reject for the semester is scanning article (left over from past classes that could potentially be useful in the future) and cataloging and organizing them so they are in a data base on a computer and organized in the library too. Today we were scanning, labeling, and entering articles in the data base. It's no small project when you have a whole wall, floor to ceiling full of shelves stuffed with papers (as well a a bookcase and a closet full too.) We are by no means expected to finish but we hope to put a good dent in it through the semester. We work in teams of two for two hours a week and we'll get a check when we get home to the states just in time for Christmas shopping :) (we are working through ACM in Chicago so thats how that works.) 

See? I'm working too while I play!
